Broadcast PR - Markettiers

April 10, 2012

The BBC's flagship Breakfast show finally made its first broadcast from MediaCityUK this morning and markettiers4dc - which of course opened its own Manchester office last summer - was delighted to see one of its clients, capitalising on the proximity to its Flintshire base with site editor, Clare Francis broadcasting live from the new studio in Salford.

Martin Bedford of BBC Business had emphasised the need for brands in the North to grow their relationships with the BBC ahead of the move at markettiers4dc’s broadcast conference over 12 months ago and MoneySupermarket’s strategy is one that has paid off. The Breakfast move follows other major programming shifts to the north in the past 12 months including Blue Peter, Newsround, 5 live, Match of the Day and Football Focus and there are now over 2,000 BBC staff working on site at MediaCityUK with another 1,000 people and BBC Three set to arrive in the coming years.

MediaCityUK is more than just the BBC however. The site itself is home to a burgeoning creative hub and Peter Salmon himself has said that the BBC are very keen to make the most of the new and independent resources MediaCityUK has available to ensure it continues to help fund local business and talent( Markettiers4dc has now been operating from central Manchester since June of last year and is set to see new studio operations up and running from MediaCityUK within the next month.

The Queen paid Manchester a visit a couple of weeks ago. Please feel free to do the same.
