CHARITY TURNS MEDIA OWNER
Epilepsy Action hit the airwaves with markettiers4dc
Epilepsy Action and the broadcast specialist markettiers4dc have teamed up to create an online radio station for 12 hours solid, dedicated to the charity’s cause. A really exciting step for the charity and the charity sector in general as Epilepsy Action becomes a media owner for the day.
The radio station goes live as part of National Epilepsy Week, which runs from 15th to 21st May and takes place every year to raise awareness of the condition. The station will run from 8am-8pm on Wednesday 18th May. Listen at www.epilepsy.org.uk/radio.
"We are really excited to be taking this step. The radio station will provide us with an invaluable platform to communicate directly to our community. It also works as a great PR tool in it’s own right, demonstrating that Epilepsy Action is a forward thinking charity that is always finding new ways to get its message across." Aimee Gee, PR and Campaigns Manager, Epilepsy Action
The radio station will feature live discussions, interviews and phone-ins for listeners, looking at the core issues that people with Epilepsy and their families face. Epilepsy Action bought markettiers4dc on board for the project and will be broadcasting live from their studios.
We're thrilled to be part of this inspiring project. We spend our days liaising with our radio station contacts and are now excited to be turning our vast knowledge of the medium towards helping Epilepsy Action both technically and creatively to make this happen." Emily Conway, Account Manager, markettiers4dc
Tune in to the radio station live from 8am-8pm on Wednesday 18th May 2011 at www.epilepsy.org.uk/radioor listen to it on-demand after the event itself.
