CHARITY OF THE YEAR FOR 2017 ANNOUNCED | END YOUTH HOMELESSNESS

markettiers were delighted to recently appoint End Youth Homelessness  as our Charity of the Year for 2017.  In the UK every year, 83,000 young people find themselves homeless. End Youth Homelessness is a movement to change this and give them a future.

The work of EYH spans three core target areas: prevention, housing and work. The ultimate aim is to change national and local policies, ensuring a positive future for homeless young people. Their work is something that the markettiers team felt strongly about and we’ll be supporting the charity with their broadcast communications and fundraising throughout 2017.

End Youth Homelessness was one of ten incredibly deserving charities on our shortlist for appointment in 2017 following a call to action via the third sector for organisations that were keen to enhance their profile in the media and drive awareness across the country. Markettiers has worked with charities and third sector organisations for more than twenty years and in that time has developed an incisive understanding of the needs, wants and challenges of people working within the sector and in turn, how to drive awareness of their core issues and challenges through broadcast channels. With consumer trust in radio at 87% over press at 75%, its importance in influencing and affecting a change of attitude and perception with the public is clear. Broadcast can therefore play a fundamental role in charitable communications.

We were particularly pleased to have been recognised for our work in the sector at this year’s Corporate Communications Awards winning trophies for our work with Canal & River Trust and Refuge in the Best use of Broadcast and CSR categories.
