Challenge: We were tasked by one of the UAE’s leading news publications, Gulf News, to utilise our solid media and influencer relationships in order to leverage the profile of Gulf News’ Editor-at-Large, Francis Matthew, and maximise awareness and call-to-action for the purchase of his latest book, “An Amazing Nation”, an in-depth tome about UAE’s past, present and future. Our key objective, set by the publisher, was to secure national broadcast interview opportunities for Francis, in addition to encouraging other titles to post reviews of the book.
Solution: We reached out to our established list of media and influencer connections, spanning a broad range of sectors; community, business, culture, lifestyle and literature. We were able to secure top broadcast interviews for Francis Matthew and deliver a successive number of book review articles and competitions to win the book by titles across the region.
Results: markettiers secured media coverage for Gulf News including TV, radio, online, social and print platforms. Francis Matthew has appeared on Dubai One TV, Pearl FM and Dubai Eye, in addition to his book being featured in Expat Woman, KidzBlog Magazine, The Caviar Spoon, Fashion Chameleon and Buzzing Tales’ blog. Beyond that, a number of Dubai-based influencers (bloggers/editors) attended Francis Matthew’s official book launch session in May (Emirates Literature Foundation, One Geek of a Parent, Mums Palette, Kidz Blog Magazine and Beauty Blog Middle East to name a few) as a result of our influencer relation efforts.
