On 20th January 2016, Markettiers worked with Seafish, the governing body for the UK’s seafood industry, for the second year in a row on the hugely popular National Fish & Chip Awards 2016. The Awards, which have taken place for 28 consecutive years, recognise excellence within the industry. Alongside the industry's most coveted award, the Independent Takeaway Fish & Chip Shop of the Year, there are a number of other categories that hundreds of Fish & Chips shops, restaurants and industry employees were competing for six months prior to the awards.
To build upon the success of previous years, and in the lead up to the prestigious ceremony, markettiers captured content with the judges and last year’s Independent Takeaway Fish & Chip Shop of the Year winner to detail the long journey that many of the nominees took in order to reach the final stage.
Ahead of the day 40 individual interview and content requests were secured, and over 100 items of coverage overall which has reached an estimated audience of 185 million and an advertising equivalent of over £100,000.The coverage includes four TV opportunities with regional ITV and BBC channels, 46 radio opportunities with BBC radio and a Global News Syndication placement, as well as 20 online video feature placements with highlights including Yahoo (24,000,040 monthly unique users), MSN (33,000,000), Mirror (68,681,255) and AOL (20,000,000). Feature News Story, who were also on-site to capture their own content on the day for Channel News Asia, captured the Fish & Chip Awards which was reached to an international audience in Singapore for the first time ever.
