Whilst fans have a few months more to wait before the theatrical release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in December, the toys from the newest blockbuster hit the shelves. To mark the event we produced a midnight unboxing fronted by Toyologist Peter Jenkinson and James Burns, editor of Jedi News at www.facebook.com/argos
Challenge:
Argos are the UK’s number one toy retailer and we wanted to drive coverage for the brand around the launch of the brand new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story toys. We were tasked with spotlighting exclusive items as well as positioning them as the go to destination for purchase, engaging both with existing customers as well as the Star Wars fan base.
Solution:
To ensure Argos stood out from the crowd, we excited Star Wars fans with an exclusive Facebook Live reveal which was streamed live onto Argos’ Facebook page at midnight on 02 September – making them one of the first retailers to showcase the brand new products. Toyologists Pete Jenkinson and Jedi News Editor, James Burns were in studio to unbox the toys.
Result:
We were able to create a real buzz about the event, with the live stream on the client’s Facebook page having over 7000 live views on the night, and 16,000 views to date, with 218 likes and 47 shares.
