In December 2013 markettiers4dc delivered two major campaigns for high street and digital retailer Argos during the vital peak pre-Christmas trading period and the delivery of a raft of news agenda leading national and regional broadcast coverage.
The first campaign saw a preview of the brand's much anticipated digital concept store. The stores, in 6 locations across the country, feature tables of tablets to replace the laminated paper catalogues, pencil and slips and stock checkers; with digital POS providing a paperless shopping experience. B Roll and online video content including time lapse was captured at London's Old Street store, to visually depict the changes 40 years after it first opened its doors to customers. Top tier media opportunities were secured with UK MD John Walden including BBC News Channel and Sky Business, which featured throughout the afternoon and in the Jeff Randall flagship evening business programme. Video news feature content went live on over 30 sites on the morning of the unveiling.
Coming hot on the heels of this key milestone for one of the UK's largest retailers was Cyber Monday – widely recognised as a very hard fought date for share of voice in the media calendar. Three locations across the country were earmarked for media to broadcast from with multiple spokespeople lined up to field the potential requests for comment. B Roll was developed featuring one of Argos' largest distribution centres and distributed under embargo for media use. A 90 second online video feature was also edited with a voiceover to tell the story of the scale of Argos' Cyber Monday operation.
This morning Daybreak came live from the Staffordshire Distribution Centre throughout the morning from 6.05. Bloomberg did 12 separate links for flagship programmes including Countdown, The Pulse & On the Move. Coverage secured to date includes Channel 5 News, BBC Essex, 5Live – On the Money, Press Association, BBC Derby, Heart West Midlands, BBC Manchester, ITV Central, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Look East, ITV Anglia, ITV West Country, BBC Somerset and Heart West Country.
