markettiers4dc worked with Santander to raise awareness of their 2014 Business Growth survey, which revealed that whilst double the number of SMEs are looking to expand internationally, a quarter of firms are not currently equipped to do so. As part of their commitment to support businesses trade internationally, Santander set up a Breakthrough Moments Box in Finsbury Avenue Square, a pop up space to host a series of master classes for SMEs interested in exporting. The campaign activity was spread across two days, with the ultimate aim being to engage SMEs, offer tips and advice on how to export successfully, and empower businesses to make the most of themselves and foreign markets.
Head of International Banking at Santander, John Carroll, conducted a series of radio interviews speaking to targeted business and commercial programming. In the interviews John discussed how British SMEs are not being properly equipped to trade internationally and suggested how they could overcome obstacles.
This activity was furthered by streaming a live programme from the Breakthrough Moments Box in Finsbury Avenue Square, featuring Santander’s Head of SME Banking, Marcelino Castrillo. An independent spokesperson was also sourced to appear in the show and add another dimension to the discussion – Sue Mortimer from UKTI.
Using a satellite truck positioned in close proximity to the location, we were able to come live from the Breakthrough Moments Box driving further buzz around the event. The half hour show was led by an experienced specialist presenter and was streamed live through the Santander Corporate and Commercial YouTube channel, on their Twitter account and on their website. The stream was also featured on the Santander LinkedIn page and hosted on business website Now Let’s Get Started. In addition to the live stream, an on-demand version of the show was edited immediately and was placed with a series of targeted third party media websites, extending the reach and sustaining coverage over the following weeks.
“We have worked with markettiers4dc on a number of broadcast campaigns over the last few years, so much so that we now consider them an extension to our own team! This particular project was both technically and logistically intense, yet the live stream was delivered smoothly and to an excellent standard.”
Andy Smith, Head of Media Relations & Employee Communications, Santander UK
