Businesses urged to tighten security as Middle East revealed as top target for DDoS attacks

Arbor Networks’ H1 2016 ATLAS report reveals cyber threats in the Middle East are growing rapidly with Saudi Arabia topping the list. Denial of Service attacks are where hackers overload servers taking business services offline.

Challenge:

Active PR and Arbor Networks’ primary objective was to secure coverage highlighting the importance of purchasing internet security with specific reference to the escalation in DDOS attacks throughout the Middle East. Also, the levels of escalation are substantially higher than the rest of the world. Arbor Networks wanted to own this story and to reach top news publications in the region.

 

Solution:

Working alongside Active PR for Arbor Networks, markettiers produced a three minute video news release, interviewing Mahmoud Samy (regional director – high growth markets Russia / CIS & Middle East and an Etisalat case study (one of their vendors) with a voice over highlighting the key findings of the report complemented by footage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attending the conference, augmented reality demonstrations and aerial footage of Dubai and the Middle East.

 

Results:

The statistics in the voice-over ensured the piece was news worthy and topical resulting in excellent coverage being achieved across the MENA region with 15 opportunities secured including Arabian Business, Gulf News, The National. These top publications showcased the video news release and social media views reached over 15,000 on Gulf News. This exposure has helped to increase awareness of Arbor Networks and address the growing concerns of DDOS attacks across the Middle East.
