First ever transatlantic live TV interview for markettiers4dc as .tel campaign hits the US

This week markettiers4dc did its first ever transatlantic live TV interview from our Farringdon studios for the .tel campaign the first online global contact directory connecting people and businesses to global broadcast media.

markettiers4dc, the only broadcast agency with a dedicated TV studio and connection to the TV network, set up the interview with Telnic CEO, Khashayar Mahdavi and leading local New York TV station NY – and reporter Adam Balkin, dialled into our studio to ask live questions. We recorded the interview via satellite with NY1 in New York, which has an audience of about 4.5 million people in New York.

Since the launch of .tel, coverage has continued to be secured – going global in the US with the campaign appearing on 131 US stations reaching a potential total audience of 9.75m.

We also achieved impressive international coverage including two Spanish TV stations (Intereconomia and CNN+), in the UK – (BBC Click, BBC Breakfast, Sky), Hong Kong Cable TV 2, Iran Press TV, and Tele Monte Carlo.

markettiers4dc have been carrying out live TV interviews with national and regional TV stations for the past 3 years regularly linking up to Sky, Five news and the BBC as well as regional ITV stations. However, this particular live interview was new for us as Julian Fisher, Director of Media Output explains, ‘We have a hardwire connection to the BT Tower which links us to the UK TV networks but in this case we needed to use a transatlantic undersea fibre connection from the Tower to its New York equivalent, Waterfront which is a giant hub for all US TV companies. An impressive first for our production team.’
