McDonald’s brought markettiers4dc in to leverage their community partnership with the Football Association through broadcast media. markettiers4dc was asked to support the launch of a scheme to offer vouchers for FA coaching qualifications to 500 new and existing coaches and a competition to reward twelve of their existing grassroots coaches with a once in a lifetime Coaching Masterclass at Wembley Stadium.
Working with former England and Arsenal player Martin Keown for the launch of the voucher scheme, markettiers4dc secured over 120 broadcast opportunities across TV, radio and online outlets. Bespoke video content produced exclusively for the campaign ran across grassroots, football and parenting websites, with interviews promoting the scheme on Radio 4’s Today programme, talkSPORT, Radio 5 Live, Radio 2, and Sky Sports News.
For the McDonald’s Coaching Masterclass at Wembley Stadium on 20th November, markettiers4dc set up outside broadcast units pitch-side to facilitate live and pre-recorded TV, radio and online interviews with the host of ambassadors and competition winners attending the event.
Maximising the limited access to former players, Gareth Southgate, Martin Keown, Andrew Cole, Sir Geoff Hurst and Pat Jennings, 13 national broadcast opportunities were secured. Sky Sports News broadcast live from the event all day and seven regional TV news programmes used bespoke b-roll captured on the day. The B Roll was also edited into online content for ESPN, Yahoo and Metro Online. In total, over 115 broadcast opportunities were secured from the McDonald’s Coaching Masterclass event.
