FutureFest

markettiers were enlisted by Nesta to deliver radio coverage of their upcoming FutureFest event, at London’s Tobacco Docks.

Challenge:

markettiers was enlisted by Nesta to deliver radio coverage of their upcoming FutureFest event, at London’s Tobacco Docks.  Our remit was split between specific targeting of London and South East-based stations, to drive footfall at the event and broader awareness raising of Nesta across the regions.

Solution:

The event will be split into themes of Eat, Love, Work and Play – each with its own curator.  We were joined in studio by “Play” curator Pat Kane (one half of 80s band, Hue & Cry) and overall event curator Josh McNorton, to participate in broadcast interviews.  They discussed the results of research conducted by Nesta that explored our attitude to the future, including the fact that a quarter of young people said they would date a robot if it looked like a human being…

Results:

Strong targeted coverage was secured in the South East through interviews with BBC Sussex & Surrey, BBC Oxford and the Global South hub, which provides news content to five Heart stations and one Capital across the region. This was in addition to wider coverage spanning the UK including national news syndicator Sky News Radio, national broadcasters BFBS and Share Radio, and a number of regional BBC and commercial stations.
