Launching Social Superstore, the peer to peer platform that enables anyone to set-up their own online store and instantly start earning commission on sales from their recommendations.
Challenge:
Support Talker Tailor Trouble Maker with the launch of Social Superstore, the peer to peer platform which allows users to recommend products to their friends, by combining social media and online retail in a unique way. Trusted by the world’s top retailers, Social Superstore enables anyone to set-up their own online store and instantly start earning commission on sales from their recommendations.
Solution:
As brands continue to spend vast sums of money on celebrity endorsements and with high profile YouTubers now earning millions for featuring products in their videos, we struck upon a creative approach which would highlight how friendships are the great untapped influencer economy.
Using research conducted amongst teenagers and adults we successfully revealed friends are by far the most powerful influencers, when it comes to buying everything from fashion and beauty to tech products and entertainment goods. Interviews were then secured with retail expert and Social Superstore Director, Baroness Michelle Mone, OBE, as well as Social Superstore Founder, Tom Hurley.
Results:
The launch day started with a bang, with Baroness Mone appearing on Sky News Channel’s flagship Breakfast Show, Sunrise, leading to a massive spike in traffic to SocialSuperstore.com. National coverage continued, with the Paul Ross Breakfast Show on talkRADIO, followed by interviews airing on more than 50 regional and local BBC and commercial stations. The extensive broadcast coverage achieved and discussion created, successfully announced the launch and explained how anyone can get involved.
