markettiers used their influence with key broadcast media contacts to secure radio interviews with Barbara Taylor Bradford OBE in the lead up to the True Entertainment channel airing a selection of films adapted from her iconic stories over a two week period.
Challenge:
markettiers were briefed by DNA PR to give broadcasters the opportunity to interview the international bestselling author Barbara Taylor Bradford OBE; the literary icon is being celebrated on the True Entertainment channel over a 2 week period after becoming one of 90 Great Britons to be honoured as part of a major portrait to mark Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday.
Solution:
Our role in this campaign was to target top tier broadcast media based on the time we had available with Barbara; we pitched the story as an interview opportunity with Barbara who would be able to provide anecdotal detail about her favourite books whilst also delivering the key messages on behalf of True Entertainment.
Results:
We secured a full radio schedule for Barbara, including interviews with 18 key regional BBC stations. Key campaign messages were hit in each interview and Barbara engaged presenters in interesting conversation by sharing anecdotes, often tailoring them to be regionally relevant given her ties to different parts of the UK; many interviews were over 10 minutes long.
Overall, all broadcast opportunities were maximised and positive coverage was secured for the season of films dedicated to Barbara on the True Entertainment channel.
