Walker Books: Guinness World Record attempt

In July 2014 markettiers4dc worked alongside the RNIB in association with Walker Books to live stream one of the UK’s best children’s authors, Michael Rosen, attempting to break a Guinness World Record and claim the title for hosting the world’s largest reading lesson.

With a total number of 1,438 children officially attending the live stream, the world record for the world’s largest literacy lesson held in a single venue was officially broken. Alongside managing the production of the event and the stream itself markettiers4dc also conducted online outreach, placing the live and on-demand versions of the stream on demographic-specific websites.

Coverage highlights included online news portals such as The Express and Manchester Evening News, as well as parenting sites such as Primary Times and a number of posts from bloggers named in the top 10 UK Children’s book blogs. Good Morning Britain also broadcast live from the event ahead of the stream going live. You can watch the stream here.
