Today is press day at the Geneva Motor Show and the automotive sector will be front and centre in broadcast programming across major news and business shows. We are working with BMW and Nissan to ensure their stories reach a global broadcast audience amongst the fierce competition for airtime in a busy news agenda including the Peugeot deal to buy Vauxhall and pre-budget debates.
Even with the competitive landscape today, our media team has ensured that both companies’ messages are being effectively relayed, Nissan building on their Intelligent Mobility vision and launching their new Qashqai keeping them in the forefront of crossover vehicle development and BMW launching their new-generation BMW 5 Series Touring, BMW 4 Series, and an exclusive version of their ground-breaking i8 plug-in-hybrid sports car – Protonic Frozen Black Edition.
Interviews with global broadcast media are taking place with BMW's Global Head of Sales and Marketing Ian Robertson, Nissan’s Chairman Carlos Ghosn and several of his senior global executives.
BMW's Ian Robertson will be on France 24, BBC World TV, BBC1 News, APTN, Reuters, BNN and CNN Quest Express while the Nissan executives are appearing on Bloomberg, CNBC, TV3 Catalunya, ARD, DW World, BFM, Sky News, AFP TV, Reuters, CNN, BBC News and ITV Tyne Tees.
For the very first time for BBC News and the Geneva Motor Show, we have set up a 10 minute Facebook live stream for their Business Editor Simon Jack to interview Nissan’s Head of Product Planning Ponz Pandikuthira. Simon will be fielding questions from the stream’s watchers while he and Ponz tour the stand focusing on the cars’ designs and the general excitement of the 2017 Show.
