To amplify the launch of Alton Towers’ new ride The Smiler, the world’s first 14 loop rollercoaster, markettiers4dc developed exclusive broadcast collateral for targeted online media owners.
markettiers4dc's video production team created a short video showcasing the new ride featuring comments from the Designer, John Wardley and Thrill Engineer, Brendan Walker. The video also captures the experience riders will enjoy in greater depth by using facial recognition technology which was strapped to the rider's helmets, this monitors the rider's emotions through the journey of the ride and measures their levels of fear, anger, shock, sadness and nausea at different stages.
Our in-house video production team used HD cameras to create high quality visual content which was edited and colour graded to showcase key aspects of the ride in beautiful detail. markettiers4dc also created a b-roll package to maximise broadcasting opportunities.
In advance of the launch date of The Smiler the video content was seeded to various high calibre online portals.
Results
18 websites used the video content including ITN, MSN, Metro, Telegraph, AOL and Digital Spy as well as extensive social media activity.
