Launch of Go Ultra Low Cities campaign

In January 2016 markettiers worked with Secretary of State for Transport, Patrick McLaughlin, and Transport Minister, Andrew Jones, launching the Government’s ‘Go Ultra Low Cities’ scheme in Nottingham and Bristol – two of the eight UK cities sharing £40 million to develop low-emission transport strategies and enhance local vehicle charging infrastructure.

With only 40 minutes with Mr McLaughlin, we set him up for live interviews with Radio Five Live Breakfast and LBC via our on site Outside Broadcast radio unit, a live into Sky Sunrise via our satellite truck and face-to-face TV interviews with BBC East Midlands Today and ITV Central News.

In Bristol, we set up BBC Points West and ITV Westcountry TV together with two local radio stations to go to their launch event with the Transport Minister.

Other TV stations covering further successful cities ran the B-Roll that we filmed, edited and distributed in advance of the announcement, while the Head of Go Ultra Low undertook several radio interviews from Nottingham into stations around the UK.

We also edited a news package on the announcement. It ran on many target news sites including The Evening Standard, Nottingham Post, Bristol Post, Milton Keynes Citizen, Dundee Evening Telegraph and York’s The Press as well as on a host of environment, tech and automotive sites.
